Lapeer, MI – During the summer months, Hemlock’s Gray Matter Robotics Team didn’t take that long restful summer vacation. Gray Matter provides advanced educational opportunities year-round. The team visited Kettering University to demo the Omio CNC Router and competed against the best teams in the world at ROBO-CON.
ROBO-CON is an annual free festival of Robotics and STEM, featuring robotic fields of all levels where participants drive robots to earn their ROBO License in the ROBO Driver’s Academy.
Along with the festival is a full FIRST Robotics Competition Event, in which 32 of the best teams from all over Michigan battle it out for the winning title for the 2019 season.
Gray Matter finished 7th after qualifying and made it to the semifinals before losing to the eventual champions.
Robotics Advisor Lockwood shared, “On the 50th anniversary of the moon launch Hemlock’s Gray Matter prepared to take off against some of the best teams in the Solar System!”
