Tennis Champs

 The Hemlock Public School District is proud to honor the outstanding achievements of the 2024 Hemlock Girls Tennis team as they prepare to compete in the state championships this Friday in Ann Arbor. This remarkable team has had an exceptional season, demonstrating skill, dedication, and sportsmanship.

Throughout the year, the Hemlock Girls Tennis team dominated dual play and emerged as champions of the TVC Tournament and regular season. Their success continued as they captured the regional championship, showcasing their exceptional talent and hard work on the court.

A significant highlight of this season is the exceptional performance of all four singles players, who were named first team all-conference. Congratulations to Sophia Hauffe, Carly Siler, Victoria Hauffe, and Anna Nurnberg for their outstanding individual achievements. Additionally, the doubles teams of Kylee Miller and Jaedyn Mallek, as well as Brooke Swanson and Alathea McMillan, were also honored with first team all-conference selections.

This incredible season was made even more special as it marked the inaugural year of competition on the brand new Kunold Courts. The state-of-the-art facility has provided a fantastic venue for the team’s success and will continue to be a cornerstone for the program's future achievements.

The Hemlock Public School District would like to extend its gratitude and recognition to head coach Dean Rusch for his steadfast enthusiasm and leadership over the years and throughout the season. His dedication to the team has been instrumental in their success. We also acknowledge assistant coach Kurt Hauffe for his technical expertise and valuable advice, which have been key components of the team's accomplishments.

Athletic Director Cory Snider expressed his pride in the team’s achievements, stating, "The Hemlock Girls Tennis team has shown incredible determination and excellence this season. Their hard work and commitment have been truly inspiring. We are excited to support them as they compete at the state championships and look forward to their continued success."

As the team prepares for the state championships in Ann Arbor, the entire Hemlock community stands behind them, cheering them on to victory. Go Huskies!
