Middle School

Hemlock Middle School is excited to announce the smooth and successful start to the new academic year. The staff, students, and families have come together in a wonderful display of community spirit, setting the stage for a positive and productive year ahead.

One of the highlights of the early weeks was our well-attended Annual Open House, where families had the chance to meet teachers, explore classrooms, and get a feel for the exciting year ahead. In addition, we hosted a special Open House exclusively for our new 5th graders, providing a warm welcome to the newest members of our middle school community. This event allowed our incoming students and their families to become familiar with the building, meet their teachers, and ease the transition to middle school.

In a new initiative aimed at ensuring the safety and organization of our students, we have implemented a change in our morning routine. Now, all students gather in the gym at the beginning of the day, allowing for a much smoother and safer arrival process. This small shift has already made a big difference in keeping our students safe and ready for a day of learning.

Our Student Council is already hard at work, building school spirit and planning fun and engaging activities. They have developed exciting Spirit Days to energize students and foster a sense of community. Additionally, the council worked hard on creating a scarecrow for Sawdust Days, a beloved community event that Hemlock Middle School is proud to participate in each year.

Lastly, NWEA testing is nearing completion, and we are grateful for the hard work of our students and staff. These assessments provide valuable insights that will help guide instruction and ensure that all students are on track to meet their academic goals.

Principal Chase remarked, "We are thrilled with how the school year has started. Our students are engaged, our teachers are dedicated, and the support from families has been overwhelming. We are looking forward to a fantastic year!"
