Spirit

K.C. Ling Elementary was thrilled to host several players from the Saginaw Spirit hockey team for an exciting assembly celebrating student leadership, sportsmanship, and community connection. The event, held on November 5, was a memorable day for students, as the Spirit players joined in honoring our October “Leaders of the Pack” and shared their journey both on and off the ice.

During the assembly, Spirit players helped announce our October “Leaders of the Pack” honorees, recognizing students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, teamwork, and character. The players then hosted a lively Q & A session, answering students' questions.  Students also had the unique opportunity to engage with the Spirit team on the gym floor, as the players led a fun floor hockey game and demonstrated skills for our budding athletes.

A special thank you goes to Frankenmuth Credit Union and Valley OBGYN for sponsoring this event and for donating tickets, which the Spirit players handed out to excited students, giving many a chance to see the team in action at an upcoming game.

“We’re incredibly grateful to the Saginaw Spirit team for their time and enthusiasm today,” said Principal Lori Gensch. “The players’ words and actions demonstrated the values of hard work, resilience, and community involvement that we work to instill in our students each day. This event was a true highlight and an inspiration for everyone involved.”

The assembly exemplified the positive impact of sports and community partnerships on student engagement and character development. We look forward to continuing this wonderful partnership with the Saginaw Spirit and our dedicated community sponsors.
