Gun Locks

Hemlock Public School District (HPSD) is proud to announce a partnership with the Michigan State Police (MSP) to enhance the safety of our students, staff, and community. As part of this collaboration, free gun locks are now available at each school building’s principal’s office.

We believe that safety starts at home and extends into our schools and community. Providing gun locks ensures that families have access to tools to safely secure firearms, helping to prevent accidents and promote responsible gun ownership.

If you or someone you know needs a gun lock, feel free to stop by your school principal’s office. Our principals are equipped with supplies and are happy to assist you.

This partnership reflects the ongoing commitment of MSP and HPSD to work in concert for the well-being of our students and the community. Together, we aim to foster a culture of safety and responsibility that benefits everyone.

Board President Matt Wesener said, “Our number one priority as a district is ensuring the safety of our students, staff, and families. Partnering with the Michigan State Police to provide free gun locks is a proactive step in promoting responsible firearm storage and enhancing the security of our community. This initiative is another example of how we are working together to protect our Huskie family.”
