School of Choice

The Hemlock School Board of Education is pleased to announce the adoption of a limited School of Choice policy for the 2025-2026 academic year. This initiative continues to reflect the growing demand for the exceptional educational opportunities and supportive environment that Hemlock Public School District offers.

“Our decision to move forward with this policy reaffirms our commitment to providing a high-quality education for all students,” said Board President Matt Wesener. “We are excited to welcome more families who value the unique opportunities Hemlock provides while preserving the personalized learning environment that sets us apart.”

Recognizing the increasing interest from families outside the district, Hemlock will once again open two enrollment windows, providing students who reside outside district boundaries the opportunity to experience the excellence of Hemlock's programs while maintaining small class sizes and individualized attention.

Superintendent Dr. Don Killingbeck added, “Our School of Choice policy allows us to open the doors to families who see the value in a Hemlock education. It’s a reflection of our growing reputation for excellence and our focus on meeting the needs of every student.”

Families interested in taking advantage of this opportunity should note the two designated enrollment periods for the upcoming school year:

  • First Enrollment Window: March 10 - 24, 2025

  • Second Enrollment Window: July 28 - August 11, 2025

This policy is a testament to Hemlock Public School District’s dedication to fostering a dynamic, nurturing, and academically excellent environment. As the district continues to grow and evolve, its focus remains steadfast: providing the best possible education for every student.
