Hemlock Public School District celebrated March as Reading Month with a vibrant series of guest reader visits, culminating in a special appearance by Scott Sawyer, Deputy Superintendent of Business and Human Resources at the Saginaw Intermediate School District (ISD).

Following earlier visits from House Rep. Tim Kelly, Dr. Erin Senkowski, Deputy Superintendent of Instruction, and others, Scott Sawyer continued the tradition of sharing the joy of reading with students at Hemlock Elementary and K.C. Ling Elementary. He engaged with students, bringing stories to life and reinforcing the importance of literacy.

"We are thrilled to have had not one, but two esteemed leaders from the Saginaw ISD join us for March is Reading Month," said Superintendent Dr. Don Killingbeck. "Scott Sawyer’s visit, like Dr. Senkowski’s, created a memorable experience for our students, showcasing the power of reading and connecting them with influential figures in education. These visits are a testament to the strong partnership between Hemlock Public Schools and the Saginaw ISD, and we are deeply grateful for their commitment to our students’ literacy."

Hemlock Public School District is dedicated to cultivating a thriving reading culture, and these guest reader events play a vital role in inspiring students to become lifelong readers. The district extends its heartfelt thanks to Scott Sawyer and all the community members who volunteered their time to share their love of reading with the Huskies.
