Hemlock Public School District has partnered with Delta Community College since 2014 to incorporate our Early Middle College Program and also has an articulation agreement with them.
During this uncertain time of the COVID-19 pandemic, Hemlock students were able to face this challenge and push forward to continue pursuing college credits. Hemlock honors the following students for completing all requirements necessary to receive 4 credits from Delta Community College.
Amelia Eddy - Senior
Mitchell Hingston - Senior
Alex Scott - Junior
Dana Lockwood, Hemlock High School Business Teacher shared, “These students had to work very hard to meet these requirements. I am so proud of them for taking on the challenge and appreciates them continuing to work while at home during the COVID-19 school release.”
Hemlock has 55 students participate in courses taught by college professors during their junior and senior year and attend the college campus in their 5th year.
The Hemlock High School Early Middle College has serviced over 100 students and awarded over 2,600 college credits at no cost to parents and students.
In a day and age with rising post-secondary costs, this program offers students to get a jump start on their college education and life without incurring the burden of student loan debt.
Superintendent Don Killingbeck, said, “We are fortunate to have such an amazing opportunity that benefits our students and families.”
