If you lived through the 1980s, you likely remember watching President Reagan on television use the Russian Proverb "doveryai, no proveryai" (trust, but verify) as he talked with the American people about our tenuous relationship with the Soviet Union.
Well, we at Hemlock Public School District recognize that our relationships are important even if they do not rise to the level of international world powers. Recently, we have discovered that two different unauthorized individuals were soliciting donations on behalf of the school.
Perhaps in their own minds, they were both on a mission to do a good deed. Still, nevertheless, neither incident was something the school never authorized. In one case, the solicitation of the donation was by a vendor who had already sold and charged the school for the donated materials.
If you are getting solicited for a donation of money or materials, whether as a business or as an individual, please feel free to reach out to us and verify that this is a school-approved project requiring donations.
