It's #TeacherFeature Tuesday, and today we're featuring our marvelous MTSS teacher, Aimee Fromholz. While she's currently teaching MTSS at Hemlock Elementary and K.C. Ling, she has spent many years with us as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher.
Aside from having a whopping 23 years invested in our little huskies, here are a few other things you may not know about Mrs. Fromholz...
• If she could be any Disney character, she'd be Belle from Beauty and the Beast (because she loves to read, and always tries to see the best in everyone).
• As a child she always wanted to be a teacher, in fact, she played "school" with her two younger brothers and her dolls.
• If she won the lottery and decided to give up teaching, she would move somewhere warm and become a yoga instructor on a beach. But, as she noted, that's still teaching!
• The quote she lives her life by is: "Everything happens for a Reason".
Lastly, we asked her how she hoped kids would remember her and her classroom, and she said, "I hope my students remember me as being kind, caring, supportive and encouraging. I hope they remember our class as being a safe, learning environment with a sense of belonging". And we are positive they will!
We're lucky to have you, Mrs. Fromholz!

Today's #StaffSpotlight is on Irene Sensabaugh, our Head Custodian at Ling Elementary. She's been a hard-working member of the Huskie Pack for over 15 years, initially as a Paraprofessional, and we'd love you to get to know her a little better...
• You might be surprised to know that she loves to ride a Harley-Davidson motorcycle with her husband.
• Her favorite part of her job is interacting with the kids in the morning at drop-off and during lunchtime in the cafeteria.
• Her least favorite part is cleaning up after sick kids (bless you, Irene!).
• Her nickname as a child was "Spunky".
• She can relate to the Looney Tunes character the Tasmanian Devil as she's always on the move...and moving fast.
• She could listen to the song "Who Am I" by Casting Crowns on repeat.
Hemlock Public School District is grateful to have you in our pack, Irene!

In this week's edition of #ThrowBackThursday, you'll notice that huskies have been partial to putting little white balls across well-manicured greens since 1962.

Congratulations to our Varsity Golf team on their performance at the Hemlock 2-Man Scramble at Valley View yesterday. Despite the frigid temps, Dawson Reidsma and Owen Nurnberg shot a stunning seven under par and helped bring home an impressive 2nd Place Trophy for their team.

It's #TeacherFeature Tuesday, and today we're featuring our fabulous fitness instructor, Matt Bauer. He teaches Elite Fitness and Physical Education here at Hemlock High School and has taught Biology (and Advanced Bio) in previous years.
Along with being a huge Michigan fan, here are a few other things you may not know about Mr. Bauer...
• If he could be any Disney character, he'd be Winnie-the-Pooh because he's "friendly and easy to get along with".
• He could listen to Cornbread by Dave Matthews Band on repeat.
• As a child he wanted to be a professional athlete.
• The quote he lives his life by is: "You can’t live a perfect day without doing something for someone else who can’t repay you “ from John Wooden.
Lastly, we asked him what he would do if he won the lottery and didn't have to work anymore and he said he'd "start up a college basketball team at a school that didn’t already have a program and be their coach".
We're lucky to have you, Coach Bauer!

• He's acted in several plays and musicals
• He loves watching kids get excited over new lunch options and is thrilled to have moved away from preprocessed foods and has instead started cooking from scratch.

It's #TeacherFeature Tuesday, and today we're featuring our marvelous middle school teacher, Dana Bishop. She's been teaching 6th + 8th grade social studies here at Hemlock Public School District for almost 3 years.
Along with being a twin mama, here are a few other things you may not know about Mrs. Bishop...
• If she could be any Disney character, she'd be Anna from Frozen..."Because I'm also a feisty redhead, who is smart, awkward, and always believes in the best in people".
• She could listen to the Hamilton soundtrack on repeat.
• The quote she lives her life by is: "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent" from Eleanor Roosevelt.
• If she won the lottery and gave up teaching, she'd own and operate a Hallmark Store because she loves "giving cards and wrapping presents to perfection."
Lastly, we asked her what she thought her kids would remember her and her class by and she said, "I think my students will remember that George Washington is, and will forever be, my boyfriend" 😉
