“We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.” –Jesse Owens
These kids were so driven this season, setting goals and reaching those goals throughout it. Once kids figured out that there is more to cross country than just running, they fell in love with this sport. Seeing them get excited at each practice that we did our meet recaps (they couldn't wait to see their splits and how much they had improved from their last personal/season best) was awesome. I'm excited to see where this program is heading because I really do believe the future is bright for our running programs here at Hemlock!

Freshman Volleyball Recap
Season record- 9 losses, 1 win
The Freshman put the work in at practice, both on and off the court, improving their skills daily.
Sportsmanship Award- Natalie McQueen. Natalie showed up all summer long for open gyms and never missed a practice during the season. Natalie was Freshman's captain this year and wore that 'C' well. Being a setter is the hardest position on the team and Natalie continued to show up and push herself and her teammates every day.
Team Accolades- Beating Carrollton, what a fun win this season!
“There is no glory in practice, but without practice, there is no glory.”

"Our Varsity Football team took on a very tall task this season. They were put through the hardest offseason Hemlock Football has had in years, they were faced with learning new offensive and defensive systems, and they played in a new conference alignment with new opponents. Our team was outsized in every game we played, but our guys kept fighting. Championships are not built overnight, and this year’s team had to face some of the growing pains of that shift in culture. These boys have laid the groundwork for what it means to be a Hemlock Football player. They’ve set the bar in terms of what a dedicated offseason looks like. I’m really proud of the work they put in, and future teams will have them to thank for creating a winning culture here at Hemlock. " -Coach Slate
