Hemlock, MI – Hemlock Public School District is making sure no children are missing meals. Food Service Director Christine Tomasek and staff have been providing breakfast and lunch bags from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm this week and last.
Each child can receive two meals per day and the food service staff will pre-pack for families, so they don't have to pick up daily.
The Well Church has teamed up with the Hemlock Public School District to help provide volunteers to deliver these meals, and Hemlock teacher/parent Karen Willour and bus driver/parent Annie James have helped in this process thus far.
McDonald’s of Hemlock has donated white milk, apple slices, freshly-baked muffins, and happy meal toys to help serve our families.
"As the Food Service Director for our district, and a mother of two, I am honored to be helping students from any community by offering them nutritious meals. Through this time of uncertainty, our food service staff will continue to work hard...children come first," shared Christine Tomasek.
Superintendent Killingbeck stated, “We would like to thank McDonald’s and The Well Church for partnering with Hemlock Public School District in serving our community. A big thank you goes out to Food Service Director Tomasek and her staff for the hard work and dedication to our students and families.”
