The Student Council at K.C. Ling Elementary spread kindness and joy this Valentine’s Day by collecting donations and assembling care baskets for local senior citizens. With the help of the entire student body, the Student Council gathered a variety of thoughtful items to bring smiles to seniors in the community.
After collecting donations, the students took a special trip to a local store to purchase additional items to complete the baskets. With teamwork and enthusiasm, they carefully organized and assembled each basket, ensuring they were filled with comforting and useful gifts. Once ready, the students personally delivered the baskets to senior citizens, brightening their day with both the gifts and their heartfelt interactions.
“At K.C. Ling, we strive to instill the values of compassion, generosity, and community service in our students,” said Principal Lori Gensch. “This project was a wonderful way for our students to give back and make a meaningful connection with our local seniors. Seeing the joy on both the students' and the seniors' faces was truly heartwarming.”
The Valentine’s Day service project is just one of many ways K.C. Ling Elementary encourages students to become active, caring members of their community. The Student Council continues to lead initiatives that promote kindness, leadership, and the importance of giving back.
