Kicking into the weekend! Reminder: No School on Monday, October 4!

4th-graders were able to check out library books "old-school" today, with "cards" for book reports! #libraryisback

Both Hemlock Elementary and KC Ling Libraries are missing books that were checked out since March 2019. If you happen to have any in your home, would you please send them to school with your student or have them dropped off in either office? There will not be late fees for any books. We would be grateful to have them returned for students to read. Any questions can be directed to Mrs. Scott at scott@hemlockps.com

Attention 4th Grade Parents/Guardians:
Due to supply chain problems, we will be changing the recorder that will be purchased. This change is in order to get students their recorder in time for a holiday concert. The cost of the recorder will be $4.50. Please send exact change with your student to school as soon as possible. If you have any questions please contact me through email or phone.
Mr. Cramer

Huskie friendships last a lifetime! #huskietastic

Drinking fountains are still out of service, due to Covid protocols. We could use donated cases of water at KC Ling Elementary. Please feel free to drop them at our office at any time. We appreciate it! Thank you!

Dear 4th grade Parents or Guardians,
I’m excited to announce that recorders will be returning to our curriculum this year!! Recorders are an excellent way for students to explore instrumental music without many of the challenges that come with beginning band instruments. This will help your student increase their coordination, confidence, and a whole host of musical skills. We will be using these skills in a performance that parents will be invited to. The date of this performance will be announced shortly, and it will be live-streamed for anyone who will not be able to attend.
Unfortunately, our program does not have the budget to provide every student with a recorder of their own so there will be a small additional cost and the students will be able to bring home their recorder at the end of the unit. The school will be ordering the recorders through Marshall Music, which will ensure that they will be a high-quality recorders to give students the best chance at success. The additional cost will be $7. Please have your students turn in their money to Mr. Cramer or their classroom teacher as soon as possible. The last day for these payments is 10/08/2021. If you can not afford this expenditure please contact me or Lori Gensch. I look forward to showing your students the wonder of playing wind instruments for the first time. If you have any questions always feel free to contact me by email or by phone
