It's Salmon in the Classroom time again!

It's salmon egg time again! The sixth grade students are part of the Salmon in the Classroom program through Michigan’s Department of Natural Resources and funded by the Leon P. Martuch Chapter of Trout Unlimited. In this program, the students raise Chinook salmon from eggs to smolt, while learning about energy roles, ecosystems, food webs, and the importance of Michigan’s fisheries to our state economy.

STEAM teacher, Mrs. Kato is so close to reaching her goal in Electrifying STEAM class through Donors Choose. This project will impact all students at Hemlock MS when they take STEAM. Please consider chipping in a few dollars to help our very own STEAM class here at the MS. Go to https://donorschoo.se/e/TWHD6UDyGR to donate or share with someone who might be interested.

Mrs. Kato's STEAM class will be doing one last big project next week and are looking for the following items to be donated-
-old CD's
-lego
-knex
-cups
-rubberbands
The students will be making a chariot that will be attached to their Sphero robot.

Mrs. Kato's STEAM classes recently completed a project in which they designed and built cardboard chairs. Their goal was to create a chair that Mrs. Kato could sit in without breaking. Lots of successful designers!! Take a look at what they were able to do! Here is the link-
